In the middle of the main street is the Village Hall, built in 1938, and the centre for many social and cultural activities. It provides space and opportunities for local groups and societies to get together. Members of the public can hire this fine building for their own functions. It makes a excellent venue for a wedding reception where you can plan your own event. The Mowbray Room and Bar provides an excellent social space and full Bar. The former Supper Room has been refurbished and re-named the Hambleton Room.
Behind the hall is an excellent childrens' Playarea with modern equipment, and a open grass space for functions or play.
